The Universitat Politècnica de València (Technical University of Valencia) is a HE public institution with over 36000 students enrolled in the 30 undergraduate degrees and 62 postgraduate degrees that are available at the University’s 13 schools and faculties. UPV has 41 departments, approximately 2500 teaching staff and 1000 administration and services staff. UPV’s Department of Applied Linguistics is composed of 90 language teachers. The languages taught are: English, French, Italian, Spanish as foreign language, German and Catalan. Members of the Department have been involved in several major EU funded multilateral projects. The University has a yearly average of 1200 outgoing ERASMUS students completing their studies in the 332 institutions with which bilateral agreements have been signed, and approximately 1600 incoming exchange students, all of whom are coordinated through a faculty or school international relations vice-directorate and through the University’s main centralized International Relations Office.
