Intermediate German

Basic information

German-English speaking & listening telecollaboration

This intermediate course continues the building of speaking, writing, listening and reading skills acquired during the first two semesters of German while expanding cultural awareness, knowledge and understanding of German culture.

In these exchanges, 1 German student will be paired with 1 American student.  We hope that each pair will complete ~3 synchronous oral exchanges, dividing the time equally between both languages.  The American students will have assigned topics to discuss in German.  The English conversation topics would be determined by the teacher or learners of English.

Based on our university semester schedules, we envision 3 exchanges between mid-October and early December.   Each class has about 24 students.  We could have 1-4 classes participate (approximately 25 - 100 students).
